This assay is intended to assess whether a test compound is a substrate of the P-glycoprotein efflux transporter expressed in Caco-2 cells. The permeability of the test compound in this cell line is determined in the AB and BA directions with and without the addition of a Pgp-specific inhibitor (verapamil).
