Background Information:
Drug-induced liver injury (DILI) is one of the major reasons that drugs are withdrawn from market. HepG2 (human hepatocellular carcinoma) cells have been routinely used as a model system to study drug induced hepatotoxicity because they have the advantages of high reproducibility, good correlation with human primary hepatocytes and suitability for high throughput screening. Eurofins performs cell viability assays using HepG2 cells by CellTiter-Glo (Promega) or other cell viability reagents.
