Background Information:
Drug-induced liver injury (DILI) is one of the major reasons that drugs are withdrawn from market. Human primary hepatocytes (HPH) are currently considered as the gold standard in vitro model system to study drug induced hepatotoxicity because it has been demonstrated that HPH in certain culture conditions maintain hepatocyte-specific functions, such as the expression of phase I and phase II drug metabolic enzymes and drug transporters. Eurofins performs the cell viability assays using cryopreserved platable human primary hepatocytes from single donor. CellTiter-Glo (Promega) or other cell viability reagent is used as a cell viability assessment.
