Biological Information
Background Information:
Drug-induced liver injury (DILI) is one of the major reasons that drugs are withdrawn from market. Human primary hepatocytes (HPH) are currently considered as the gold standard in vitro model system to study drug induced hepatotoxicity. Lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) released into the culture medium upon plasma membrane damage is considered as one of the hallmarks of cytotoxicity. Eurofins performs the cytotoxicity assessment using cryopreserved platable human primary hepatocytes from single donor. LDH-Glo (Promega) is used as a cytotoxicity assessment.
