Hepatotoxicity (3D spheroids, human primary hepatocytes, 7-day, CellTiter-Glo) - US

Background Information:

Drug-induced liver injury (DILI) is one of the major reasons that drugs are withdrawn from market. Human primary hepatocytes (HPH) are currently considered as the gold standard in vitro model system to study drug induced hepatotoxicity because it has been demonstrated that HPH cultured in 3D speroids maintains hepatocyte-specific functions, such as the expression of phase I and phase II drug metabolic enzymes and drug transporters. Eurofins performs the cell viability assessment in 3D spheroids formed from cryopreserved platable human primary hepatocytes from single donor. CellTiter-Glo (Promega), which quantifies the ATP activity as an indicator of metabolically active cells, is used as a cell viability assessment. Single concentration is tested in this assay.
