Human primary-like pancreatic beta cells are fully mature human pancreatic beta cells that exhibit close to native beta cell phenotypes. They natively express various receptors that are physiologically relevant for human β-cell function – most prominently GLP1R, GCGR and GIPR. Upon stimulation with the relevant agonist, a robust cAMP, second messenger response is observed which can be measured using TR-FRET technology. This enables the direct characterization of all types of compounds acting on Gs-coupled receptors.
