Eurofins Discovery Awards its Top Innovators

SAN DIEGO, CA – July 31, 2025 — Eurofins Discovery proudly celebrates its innovators of 2024, recognizing outstanding Eurofins Discovery teams for their exceptional contributions to scientific technology and business innovation. This year’s Innovation Award winners, and all participants in our annual innovation program, exemplify the Eurofins mission to foster a culture of creativity, entrepreneurship, and continuous improvement.
 
The Eurofins Discovery team in Taiwan has been honored with the Eurofins Discovery Scientific Innovation Award for their innovation on the integration of AI-based tools into the Bhas 42 Cell Transformation Assay. This Assay serves a crucial role in non-animal carcinogenicity testing and contributes to the weight-of-evidence approach for carcinogenicity assessment mentioned in ICH S1B (R1) when integrated with other data sources. While recognized for its scientific utility, the traditional assessment is labor-intensive and time-consuming, necessitating advanced technological integration for improved efficiency and objectivity. The team implemented AI-based analysis to enable rapid and accurate foci classification. This achievement marks a significant advancement in assay automation, as the team successfully implemented AI-driven image analysis to automate the scoring of transformed cell colonies. This innovation addresses a critical need for faster, more objective, and reproducible scoring in carcinogenicity testing. By integrating AI into the analysis, the assay now delivers enhanced speed, consistency, and sensitivity in detecting carcinogenic liabilities, while also reducing the labor-intensive nature of traditional methods. The result is a more efficient and reliable tool for predictive toxicology.
 
The supply chain management team from Eurofins Discovery France has been honored with the Eurofins Discovery Business Improvement Award for their successful Integration and Implementation of a work management platform, which has significantly enhanced the team’s ability to manage resources, equipment, and projects across R&D and High-Throughput Screening (HTS). By providing greater visibility into resource allocation and coordination of custom and HTS projects. This improved oversight enables the team to deliver more accurate project timelines to our customers, ultimately increasing transparency and operational efficiency.
