Biological Information
Background Information:
Some chemicals can induce the activity of CYP enzymes. These inducers will increase the metabolism of the co-administered drugs that are substrates of the induced CYP enzymes, resulting in these drugs losing efficacy. Eurofins in vitro CYP induction assay allow identification of compounds that may induce CYP activities, causing potential drug-drug interactions. The assays are performed using plateable cryopreserved human primary hepatocytes. The CYP activity is determined using the respective substrate of each CYP isozyme. The corresponding metabolite is detected by HPLC-MS/MS methods. The negative control and positive controls are included in each assay.
