Biological Information
Background Information:
Pam3CSK4 (Diacylated Lipoprotein) is used to specifically activate TLR1/2 and stimulates secretion of IL-6; inhibition by client compound is reported as pg/mL for the strength of the response. Reference compound dexamethasone is used for comparison purposes. Non-treated cells serve as background control, while Pam3CSK4 (Diacylated Lipoprotein) stimulated PBMCs in the presence of vehicle serve as a positive control. The number of PBMC donors in this study is customizable and can be tested as either individual or pooled donors.

Oncology/Immuno-Oncology
Adverse / Beneficial Action:
TLR ligands (agonists) have shown value for treatment and/or prevention of infectious and neoplastic diseases. Based on safety and efficacy of the TLR agonists used to date, applications are likely to increase in the future. TLR antagonists may be used to treat a number of inflammatory conditions, including sepsis, skin diseases, rheumatoid arthritis and systemic lupus erythematosus.
