Create a Quote

Question Answer
How do I create a quote for standard items?

You can create a standard quote directly on the website. Here is the general process.

  1. Add standard items to your cart

There are several options for adding items to the cart, including:

    • Search results page
      • For individual items, click “+ Cart” (Note: on mobile devices, click on the additional actions ellipsis (i.e., three vertical dots) and select “Add to Cart” on the menu.)
      • For multiple items, select all desired items and click “+ Cart” on the bulk actions toolbar at the bottom of your display.

    • Assay detail page
    • Favorites page – Either single or multiple items can be added to the cart
    • Panels page – Note: this is like Favorites, but instead a adding a single favorite items to the cart, all your favorite items that you have saved in a Panel are added with a single click of the “Add Items to Cart” button
    • Cart Page – Items can be added directly in the cart via “Add Item”
    • Online Data page – Click on the additional actions ellipsis (i.e., three vertical dots) and select “Add to Cart” on the menu. This will add the select item to the cart as well as the compound from that line. Bulk add to cart is also available.
  2. See Quoting Convenience Features for additional information.

  3. Configure assay parameters in the cart
Once items have been added to your cart, click on the cart icon at the top of the page to open the cart. Once the cart is open, you will see two tabs “Standard Quote” and “Custom Quote”. You can create standard quotes (i.e., “Standard Quotes” tab) by yourself directly on the website. To start this process, you will need to first configure the testing parameters for each assay, or group of assays.
Website Help - Create a quote

    1. Mode – Choose between “Flexible” and “IC50/EC50” modes. “Flexible” mode allows you to enter a flexible number of concentrations and replicates. If available, selection of “IC50/EC50” mode auto-populates Eurofins defined concentration and replicate number. For certain assays, the mode is pre-defined and cannot be changed.
    2. Comp – Choose number of compounds/samples
    3. Conc – Choose number of concentrations. Certain assays may have pre-defined values or value ranges for either “Flexible” and/or “IC50/EC50” modes.
    4. Rep – Choose number of replicates. Again certain assays may have pre-defined values that cannot be changed.
    5. Turnaround Time – Most assays will only have a standard turnaround time; however, a few assays may have additional turnaround times available. Actual turnaround times for an assay can be found on the assay’s detail page.

Once your assays have been configured you can move to the next step by clicking “Start Quote” button, which will also update pricing.

Alternatively, you can click “Update Price & Save” to update the pricing and save your parameters and continue to browse the website. Note: If you have not clicked either button, the items will remain in the cart; however, the configuration will not be saved.

  4. (Optional) Add Compound Information
Adding compound information during the quote creation process is optional. See the “Compound Information” section on Place an Order help page for more information on this topic.

Note: If you started your quote from Online Data page, then the compound(s) for the results lines that you chose to add to cart will be associated with those assays.

  5. Indicate where you would like to ship your compounds/samples
Based on where the majority of the items in your cart are performed, the system will apply a Eurofins location as the default ship location. If it is more convenient for you to shipping to a different Eurofins location, you can select another location for a small fee. We will make arrangements to have your compounds/samples transferred to other Eurofins Discovery sites as needed.
  6. Select your billing address
Your company account will be selected by default. You can also select your own address or other billing addresses connected with your company. If your billing address is not shown on the billing page during quote creation or you need to update it, then please provide our Customer Service team with the full address (including contact name, telephone number and email, where appropriate). We will set up the new billing address for you (this should take approximately 1 business day to update).
  7. (Optional) Additional Information
In this step, you can add your personal study reference info, select additional study delivery formats or add special instructions for your study. This additional info will appear on the quote, invoice and study report.

    Examples on special instructions include:

    • Independent experiments
    • Non-standard solvents
    • Changes to the assay protocol (e.g. buffer, incubation time)
    • Specifying that the quote is a follow-up study
    • Request for custom reports and special compound handling

Note: Adding special instructions to your quote will place the quote in Pending Review status. This is to allow our team to evaluate the request and, if applicable, add any additional charges prior to issuing the quote. Typically, the quote will be available within 1 business day.

  8. Review your selections and complete quote creation

You can review the information that you added in previous steps. If you need to make a change, simply select “Edit” in a section or click on the step to where you want to go back. Once your review is complete, click “Create Quote” and the quote will be available in Quotes generally within a minute.

Note: If you either added special instructions during the quoting process (see Step 6) or if your account is setup with special instructions, your quote will be in Pending Review status. This is to allow our team to evaluate the request and, if applicable, add any additional charges prior to issuing the quote. Typically, the quote will be available within 1 business day.

How do I request a quote for custom items? You can request a custom quote for one or more items by following these steps.

  1. Add custom items to your cart – Follow the same process to add custom items to the cart as you would for standard items. Custom items generally will have the action of “+ Custom” or “Add Custom Request”
  2. Once items have been added to your cart, click on the cart icon at the top of the page to open the cart. Once the cart is open, you will see two tabs “Standard Quote” and “Custom Quote”. You can generate a custom quote request from the “Custom Quote” tab.
  3. Either select “+ Add to Request” for an individual item OR mark the checkboxes for multiple items and use the bulk “+Add to Request” action to add items to the custom quote request form. The Request Custom Quote form will open with your information pre-populated along with the addition of the items that you had selected to be added to the request.
  4. Complete the mandatory fields and click “Submit” button. Generally, our team will either provide a quote or reach out to you to discuss a solution related to your request within 1 business day.
What other actions can be performed in the cart? Within the “Standard Quote” tab, you can click on the additional actions ellipsis (i.e., three vertical dots) to find more actions

  • Move to Group – For items that have the same AGC (Assay Group Compatible) code, you can create a group, in which the parameters for all the items within the group can be configured in a single line.
  • Duplicate – This will duplicate the item. This is usually done, if you want to run compounds in the same assay but with different concentration and/or replicate parameters.
  • Delete – This will remove the item from the cart
  • Add to Favorites – This will save an item to your Favorites
  • Add to Panel – This will add an item to one of your Panels
  • Save for Later – This will move the item from the cart to “Save Items”. At any point, you can select “Save Items” and choose which items that you want to add back to the cart in the future.
