The permeability of compounds across cell membranes, such as intestinal epithelium, is a critical characteristic that determines the rate and extent of human absorption and ultimately affects the bioavailability of a drug candidate. Compounds with poor permeability are more likely to have poor Absorption, Distribution, Metabolism, Excretion (ADME) and Pharmacokinetics (PK) properties.
 
For rapid assessment of membrane permeability, we provide both standard and custom bidirectional permeability assays in multiple cell lines, including human Caco-2 and MDCK cells. To test for compound interactions with drug transporters, as recommended by regulatory agencies (P-gp, BCRP, MRP2, BSEP, OATP1B1, OATP1B3, OAT1, OAT3, OCT1, OCT2, MATE1, MATE2-K and more), we offer both substrate assessment and inhibition services in Caco-2, MDCK, HEK293, CHO, membrane vesicles, and various transfected cells lines.
