Hepatotoxicity and cardiotoxicity remain the two top reasons for withdrawal of approved drugs from the market. To profile the potential liver toxicity of a compound, we offer standard, custom, high throughput, and High Content Analysis (HCA) assays using primary human hepatocytes, HepG2, and other liver cells, to evaluate multiple endpoints including cytotoxicity, mitochondrial toxicity, oxidative stress, apoptosis, phospholipidosis, and more.
 
At Eurofins Discovery, we have an industry leading portfolio of ion channel cell lines, technology platforms and a dedicated team of experienced electrophysiologists to help you determine the right assay format (binding and/or functional) all the way through data interpretation. From single-cell manual patch clamp (the gold standard in ion channel work) to high-throughput 384-well automated electrophysiology instruments, we have the capabilities to utilize platforms and strategies that provide the throughput, results, and depth of analysis to meet your drug discovery requirements.
 
For identifying the genotoxicity potential of compounds, we provide a battery of tests as recommended by regulatory agencies. Our Ames fluctuation assay can identify compounds that are potential mutagens and is designed for screening large numbers of compounds in a high throughput 384-well format. For compounds that induce chromosome damage (clastogens and aneugens), we offer in vitro micronucleus screening in a 96-well plate format using automated scoring by HCA, providing both objective and consistent data.
 
The Eurofins Discovery portfolio also includes a variety of other in vitro toxicology services, including testing for nephrotoxicity, neurotoxicity, and other target organ toxicities in a wide range of cell lines, metabolism-mediated and mechanism-based toxicities, reactive metabolite detection using trapping agents, mitochondrial membrane potential and mitotoxicity, and a range of testing services to help investigate toxicities related to poor ADME PK properties, Drug-Drug Interactions, and lead optimization services. While all services can be ordered individually or combined, a selection of key in vitro toxicology services are offered in our drug candidate assessment packages to provide cost savings.
